Bothered.

I was texting back and forth with my friend Dayna today and it went something like this:

"Morg! I just heard terrible news."
"What's the terrible news??" (hoping the news was not truly terrible)
"Domino is closing! March will be their last issue!"

This is by far my favorite decorating magazine and it really is closing. The ideas that it has are always so great. I love it so much that Stuart even noticed and bought me this
for Christmas. I felt this way about Blueprint magazine (if anyone remembers that one) and it closed after just a little while as well. I'm so bothered!

Happy Birthday Andrea!

It's this girl's birthday tomorrow! Happy Birthday! I hope the baby comes soon!

Going to the Superbowl!

In honor of the fact that this is mine AND Stuart's blog I thought I'd go against the grain and post about football. Cardinals beat the Eagles today and we're going to the Superbowl for the first time in a lot of years... SO EXCITED!! (My heart was actually racing a little bit in the last few minutes of the game, I was into it.)

Zumba Workout Class

I went to a Zumba class (for the first time ever) at the gym Saturday morning with my sister-in-law Kate and yesterday my legs were more sore than they have ever been in my life! Also, oddly enough only my right calf hurts today... I felt so dumb doing all the moves because I had no clue what I was doing and there were lot of girls that were definitely 'regulars' but it was so good! It's worse than the day after lunges! On that note, I highly recommend going.

Movie Night

We went and saw Bride Wars last night with some friends and I absolutely loved it! Even the boys did! The only thing I'm unsure of is if I like Kate Hudson's bangs... I can't decide if I love them or hate them. Go see it.

24 Candles

Stuart made my birthday really great. He took me to sushi at Happy Sumo and then we finally did this...

bought our knives at Williams-Sonoma!! I'm beyond happy, Wusthof is my new friend. Then for my present he took me shoe shopping... but unfortunately Orem's Nordstrom held no shoes that I fell in love with, we immediately turned around and Stuart decided to get me this...

I love it!! The best part about this present is that it was on SALE! YAY! Then we went home to have this giant cupcake that I made for both of our birthdays...

This is the 2nd cake in my life that I have made from scratch and I'm pretty proud of it... I feel a little bad that mine and Stuart's "shared" birthday cake had so many pastels, but oh well. Yay for birthdays!

New Year's Eve + Stuart's Birthday

We didn't do much New Year's Eve, just dinner and a movie. New Year's in Provo is foreign for both of us because we've always been in Mesa (and most of our friends were there, too).

However, I figured that we should still document New Year's before we went out, so here is the picture.

Stuart wanted to go snowboarding for his birthday so we went to Brighton.

The view was kind of amazing. Also, our day was awesome until I decided that it would be fun to race Stuart down the mountain, caught my edge, fell hard and got a slight concussion. Good thing it was near the end of the day. However, I've had a headache ever since and I'd really like it to go away soon. Also, I think it may have ruined Stuart's birthday a little bit. I had all these plans for after we went snowboarding like: make a cake (buy candles), wrap the sunglasses he already knew he was getting, actually get dressed and go to dinner. Instead...

Stuart didn't want me to go out with a headache so we ordered pizza and he blew out the rather large scented candle we had in the kitchen. Luckily my birthday is only a few days away and I'm very willing to share the candles on my cake so that he can get a real birthday wish.

Christmas Time is My Favorite Time

Here are some pics of our time at home.

The first day we were back Stuart's little sister Stephanie had a piano recital. She did fabulously.

We also made decorated gingerbread houses...

Lucy did really well and made pretty patterns.

Emily and I were partnered up and I wish I had taken a picture of our final product but that is on Abby's camera...

A candid (normally i don't like these types of photos, but this one I enjoy) at my family's Christmas Eve party.

I love my brothers. How I got no height and they got all of it is beyond me.

Perhaps this was a mistake, but I gave Stuart an XBox 360 for Christmas. This facial expression is very real. For most of Christmas morning.

My mom put Nerf Guns in the boys stockings (I got hit in the eye about 2 minutes after they opened them).

Christmas Day at the Peterson's. My family doesn't really do place settings so I really liked this.

They'll probably hate me, but this was on my camera and I think it's hilarious. (Apparently so did Kate)

I just love Christmas.

2nd Annual Iron Chef

I'm playing catch-up on the last part of December... we had our 2nd Annual Peterson Iron Chef Competition when we went home to Mesa for Christmas... I don't have a lot of pictures of it, well, actually I only have these two. But it was a lot of fun. We didn't win this year (we did last year) but I'm looking forward to many more years of this activity. Abby (Stuart's mom) bought a trophy for it, so I know we have several more!

The secret ingredient was garlic (or cream) and we did cajun garlic shrimp on linguini and sourdough garlic bread.

New Year and A Birthday

Not only is today the beginning of a new year but it is also Stuart's birthday! He is my favorite person and best friend and I just love him. (This picture should make it oh-so-obvious why!)

These are his new Chicago Bears (Christmas Eve gift) pajamas. So hot. I'm glad he was born 24 years ago.
